Support Peace One Day
I
n honor of the International Day of Peace, September 21, the
Cape Coral community will celebrate Peace One Day at Jaycee
Park, from noon to 5 p.m. The family-friendly free event features
food, vendors, artisans, music and a “Flower Power Through the
Runway” fashion show.
Peace One Day is a nonprofit, impartial organization, in-
dependent of any government, corporation or religious creed,
whose aim is to raise awareness of Peace Day as an international
day of global cease-fire and nonviolence. The United Nations
reported that last year, more than 100 million people in 192
countries participated. Life-saving initiatives in 14 countries included 80 activities
in Afghanistan alone, where 1.4 million children were vaccinated against polio. Visit
peaceoneday.org.
For information about the Cape Coral event, call 239-573-7630 or 239-895-6728, or
