Pictorial guide: an NSPKU
resource
This handy picture guide to the PKU diet was last
updated in June 2005 and since then there have
been many changes to the ACBS foods with new
arrivals, discontinuations and more modern look-
ing packaging.
I know that many of you are waiting for the new
version and the good news is that it is at the printers
and should not be long before it is ready.
As well as updating the ACBS foods I have up-
dated the crisp section. Some ‘free’ crisps have
gone but others have taken their place. Since the
last amino acid analysis cassava/tapioca crisps
which contain other free ingredients have been
allowed as ‘free’; fruit crisps too. There has been a
big increase in vegetable (other than potato) crisps
and these are featured as well as the old favourites
such as Quavers and Hula Hoops. We are currently ana-
lysing Prawn Crackers for phenylalanine content as they
