Thank You
What strikes me most about this publication is that it conveys not only the extraordinary history of private giving to Trinity, but it also clearly demonstrates that this tradition is increasing year on year. The significant developments going on in College today are thanks to the generosity and commitment of our donors, alumni and friends.
Trinity has an international reputation for educating outstanding graduates and pioneering world class research. We are very much aware that we build our achievements upon a rich legacy of scholarship that is constantly evolving and looking forward to forge new levels of excellence. We are also aware that the achievements of both past and present would not be possible without the support of our donors who share our vision for a better future.
As a university and a country, we are experiencing unprecedented challenges that are both opportunities and threats. I have no doubt in my mind that it is the universities with supporters like ours that will create opportunity from change and lead the way to a renewed and wiser society.
I hope that when you read about the projects that are happening in the university now thanks to your support (see Donor Funds at Work) you will agree that your funds are being wisely and innovatively spent.
I am proud of Trinity’s contribution – I know that this could not have happened without yours.
With sincere thanks
Dr John Hegarty
Provost
