CUSTOMER CORPORATE SERVICES DIRECTORATE - Planning Division

Technical Clerk

SCP 4-13 £11,193 - £14,523

Applications are invited for this interesting and varied post within the Planning Division.

The successful candidate will occupy a front line position within the busy Development Control section of the Planning Division, and will need to demonstrate an aptitude for working with Ordnance Survey and other plans, possess good written and oral communication skills, have a courteous and diplomatic approach to telephone and personal enquiries, and be computer literate.

The principle responsibilities of the post are to assist in the registration and processing of planning applications, including extensive use of the Division’s computerised planning application system, the maintenance of development control records, checking and receiving planning application fees, local land charges, preparation of website pages and dealing with developers, members of the public and Councillors.

Applicants should possess a minimum of 3 GCSE’S (A-C grades and including Mathematics and English Language) or equivalent.
