In the Combatives competition, the timing and effectiveness interjected with choreography and humor of the Combatives
provided much amazement and comic relief to those watching. From the facial expressions of Chance and Skye Battenberg’s
team to the technical finesse of Mee-a Pavey and Lindsay Elgin’s team, competitors demonstrated their versatility in this
exciting event.
Master Reneé Battenberg helps run a great tournament. At this AMAI Spring Nationals
she hosted these great events: Power Breaking, Concrete Breaking, Team Breaking,
Demonstration Team Competition, Sparring, AMAI Forms, AMAI Combatives, Tai
Chi, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Pre-Karate Kubs and Weapon Forms.
The tournament was a great success. Competitors came from Texas, Florida, Tennessee
& surrounding areas.
The vision of the AMAI has taken a giant step forward in tournament competition and
strives to always keep a winning tradition.
