This is the most exciting month since I became the editor of Viewpoint in 1998.
We have gone live! It’s been a long time coming, but you can now find us at
www.mags4dorset.co.uk
Our new community website is a fantastic addition to our two magazines, Town & Village and Viewpoint. It increases our distribution
because our current issues are now free to download. If you don’t receive Viewpoint through your letterbox and normally travel to the
library to collect your copy only to find that they’re all gone because they are so popular (we hear this story quite a lot from our loyal
readers) – well you can now browse your favourite mag online from your own home or even at the library.
We do realise that the paper copies are always so much nicer to read and you can flick through them with your morning coffee and
cut out your favourite pics and articles and easily refer to them for special offers with local firms, but the website is a very pleasing
addition to enhance your enjoyment. It is also a community based project and we would like you to feel part of it.
We are publishing news updates, editorials and competitions; there’s also a forum and lots, lots more. Go to
www.mags4dorset.co.uk
to see for yourself and please let us know what you think.
Inside this issue of Viewpoint you will find a fantastic prize worth £1,500 to the winner. It is a free website applicable to businesses
including new start ups. To enter visit
www.mags4dorset.co.uk. Also this month there is an interview with Simon Gibson, Verwood’s
youngest councillor – ever. The Canford Bridge closure has great exposure. Add your comments to our website forum if you wish.
And just see what the Dragons Den thought of Hamfatter, the Indie pop group that has two Verwood lads in it.
It’s all happening.
Talk to you next month, or maybe on our new forum!
