HIGHER EDUCATION
The Payson Campus of Gila Commu-
nity College was built by our citizens to
serve the business, workforce, university
transfer, and leisure education and training
needs of a vibrant and growing communi-
ty. Tuition rates are very low–offering pro-
grams at about 1/5 the traditional univer-
sity cost–and quality is high. The special
flexibility of a community college allows
the Payson Campus to respond quickly to
stated business, industry, and workforce
development training needs. Customized
corporate assessment and training can be
developed to satisfy the dynamic require-
ments of technology change and sustain-
able economic development.
In addition to providing Arizona Gen-
eral Education transfer courses for students
wishing to pursue bachelor degrees at Ari-
zona State University (ASU), Northern
Arizona University (NAU), and University
of Arizona (UofA), the Payson Campus pro-
vides significant Career and Technical Ed-
ucation (CTE) in the growing allied health
fields, computer technology, business ad-
ministration and management, nursing
assistant, fire science, emergency medical
technology, teacher and early childhood
education, and registered nursing. A broad
array of courses in painting, ceramics, jew-
elry making, exercise, and creative writing
provide for both credit transfer and leisure
learning options.
RELIGION
