The ASUS P565 is a business PDA
phone that boasts an 800 MHz
processor- the fastest in the world at the
time of this announcement. Featuring
ASUS’ latest touch-driven user
interface – Glide - the P565 delivers
graphics and system performance that
are claimed to be beyond anything
else on the market at present, posting
Vsbenchmark scores almost two
times that of competing products in
its class. The device features a VGA
2.8-inch touchscreen running at a
resolution of 480 x 640 pixels.
According to the contractor the
combination of an 800 MHz processor
and Glide enhances productivity, with
the fast processor rendering the P565
particularly amenable to multitasking,
while Glide enables users to switch
between tasks rapidly with their
fingertips. The P565 also comes with a
suite of business-oriented features and
software, including push mail, business
card recognition and Microsoft Office
Mobile. Other useful applications such
as Anytime Launcher and Multi-Home
enable users to view their calendars,
the times of local and visited cities,
weather reports, online news and more.
The ASUS P565 is designed for HSDPA
3.6 Mbits/s, UMTS 2,100, and EDGE/
GPRS/GSM 900/1,800/1,900, Class 10
networks. It measures 102 x 60.5 x 16
mm and weighs 120 gm (with battery).
Standby time is 250 to 300 hours with
3G and 200 to 250 hours with 2G. Talk
time is 3 hours with 3G and 4 hours
with 2G. The PDA/Smartphone includes
a camera and video recorder, WAP
browser, and SMS/MMS/e-mail/MSN/
push e-mail. Business applications can
include Word (editor), Excel (editor),
PowerPoint (viewer), Windows®
Live, MSN, Voice Commander and
push e-mail (Exchange Server).
