Southern
Salt Flats, Bolivia
Crossing
La Paz to Buenos Aires
Bolivia, Argentina, Chile
This epic journey takes us from the barren and
chilly altiplano, across great deserts and through
the verdant and lake studded lands of Patagonia.
Bolivia, with its large indigenous population,
witches markets and colonial towns, contrasts
sharply with the more European and affluent
countries of Argentina and Chile. Beginning our
journey in La Paz, we wind our way south, making
an excursion out onto the famous salt flats before
crossing the border into Argentina's wine country.
Cosmopolitan Chile comes next, where we take in
some of Chilean Patagonia's most stunning
scenery. Back across the border in Argentina we
head towards the wild Atlantic ocean, in search of
local wildlife. Our final leg of the journey brings
us to Buenos Aires, aptly named the "Paris of
South America" with its tree-lined avenues and
cafe society, which makes for a fantastic end to
our trip.
