Charles Chisnall
One of GEM’s Founder Associates,
Charles holds a raft of high profile
distributorships with notable
international companies. He was
previously head-hunted to become
Founding Distributor with a major
internet gaming company.
Charles Chisnall is a great believer in self improvement. The seminal moment in
his working life came in 1994 when he swapped a job in retail management for a
career in Network Marketing. Our guest reviewer selects two books to stimulate
the mind and view the world in a different way.
Predictably Irrational: The Hidden Forces That Shape Our Decisions
by Dan Ariely
This book is all about why and how people don't behave like the sensible, rational beings
they are supposed to be. It makes an excellent job of showing how conventional
economics is plain wrong.
It has a brilliant chapter on social norms - how people mess things up when they mix up
market economy and social/friendship types of behaviour.
The book backs up its assertions with entertaining descriptions of behavioural
experiments. Some are enlightening, for example just how strong the placebo effect can
be. Others are hilarious, including how we can't predict how our own behaviour will
change in different circumstances.

pages just to digest it all--the ideas come at you so fast. If you don't think you
can still make good money in your own business, starting with little or no
capital, Kennedy will change your mind right away.
‘Don’t be a spectator in life, be a player.’
