fun for all the family at Craigavon Lakes, including
banana boating, water-skiing, windsurfing, sailing or
canoeing. Slalom down the premier artificial ski slope
in Northern Ireland at Craigavon Golf Ski Centre,
or tee off at their 18-hole Championship Golf Course,
or several other welcoming golf courses in idyllic
surroundings throughout Craigavon. Pedal power
enthusiasts will find numerous dedicated cycle
routes through some of the most beautiful scenery in
Ireland, including around Lough Neagh and down the
tranquil Newry Canal towpath. Imagine walking
through a tranquil natural world far from the bustle of
modern life. In Craigavon there’s so much choice, not
least the unique natural idyll of the lovely Wetlands
Way, which has special routes for horse riding,
cycling and walking.
Craigavon is famous for its Christian Heritage too.
Follow in Saint Patrick’s footsteps back to the dawn
of Irish Christianity, through beautiful countryside,
mystical islands, ancient burial grounds and wild
bogland to discover a series of atmospheric sacred
sites. The first meeting of Quakers in Ireland took
place in Lurgan and the towns and countryside
of Craigavon Borough are full of reminders of their
presence and contribution to Lurgan’s status as a
centre of Ireland’s linen trade.
