HIV testing for 50 mums-to-be
The first step in breaking the chain of mother-to-child
transmission of HIV is to test mothers-
to-be for the virus. For £25 UNICEF
can provide simple HIV tests for 50
expectant mothers. It’s a scary step for a
mum-to-be, but testing is always
voluntary, and there is counselling
and advice on-hand for women
who test positive.
Test kits may vary according to local situation.
