THE OCEAN
BRITAIN’S biggest warship is taking the fight to the
drug-runners on a four-month patrol in the Caribbean.
Helicopter assault ship HMS Ocean – here escorted by her landing craft, as
pictured by LA(Phot) Ray Jones – and her radar-laden Sea Kings, bolstered
by general-purpose Merlins and Royal Marine Commandos, is casting
her net across a wider stretch of water than the destroyers and frigates
traditionally sent by Britain to support the war on the narcotics trade.
