Legislators, staffers receive
TMC awards
T
he Military Coalition (TMC),
a consortium of 35 military and
veterans’ organizations, singled
out four legislators and two congres-
sional staffers for special recognition at
TMC’s annual awards reception on Capi-
tol Hill Oct. 2.
MOAA’s Col. Steve Strobridge, USAF-
Ret., and Fleet Reserve Association Na-
tional Executive Secretary Joe Barnes,
both of whom cochair TMC, hosted the
event with TMC President Mike Cline of
the Enlisted Association of the National
Guard of the U.S.
The coalition recognized the follow-
ing individuals:
■ Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.) for his
leadership in championing legislation to
protect military benefi ciaries from steep
TRICARE fee increases and his efforts to
help wounded warriors with traumatic
brain injuries;
■ Sen. Chuck Hagel (R-Neb.) for champi-
oning TRICARE protections, SBP fi xes,
and MGIB improvements;
■ Rep. Vic Snyder (D-Ark.) for his leader-
ship on the House Armed Services Com-
