‘I’m originally from Sweden, but since the age of 12 I have studied in Britain. I attended a specialist music school and in 2000 I participated in an LSO scheme. It was there that I met many of the Academy’s professors and students, and realised the Academy was where I wanted to continue my education.

I’ve taken part in many amazing performances here. Some of the highlights include studying Beethoven with Colin Davis, backing Elton John at the Royal Opera House, and performing to Arvo Pärt together with London Sinfonietta players in Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall.

I’ve had master-classes with some of the very top international soloists and orchestral specialists. The variety of teachers at the Academy is inspiring – we’re always switching from contemporary to baroque to ethnic percussion, and I hope to keep playing in such a wide range of styles in my professional work.’

‘some outstandingly characterful woodwind solos and virtuoso percussion playing ... this was a highly disciplined performance of a challenging continuous span of music’
The Guardian, September 2005
