Road Works in Osborne Road Southsea Colas Ltd. resurfaced Osborne Road between 0800 and 1800 from Monday 7/7/08 to Friday 11/7/08.
Westbound bus services were diverted as follows.
1 & 3 (to Paulsgrove), 1A (to Fareham), 1C (to Commercial Road) & 40 (to Wecock Farm)
Diverted from Clarendon Road via Palmerston Road, Clarence Parade, Western Parade and Kent Road to Grove Road South.
5 (to Fareham) Diverted from Avenue de Caen via Clarence Parade to Duisburg Way.
6 (to Portsea) Diverted from Clarendon Road via Palmerston Road and Clarence Parade to Duisburg Way.
19 (to Commercial Road [South]) Diverted from Clarendon Road via Palmerston Road and Clarence Parade to Western Parade.
Use of Heavy Crane in Stubbington Avenue, North End Portsmouth
A heavy crane was used between 0800 and 1800 on Saturday 26/7/08 in Stubbington Avenue and caused the diversion of Service 19.
19 (to North End) Diverted from Burrfields Road via Copnor Road, Chichester Road and London Road to North En Junction, where it circumnavigated
the roundabout to terminate in London Road outside Woolworth's shop.
19 (to City Centre) Diverted to start from London Road (outsides Woolworth's shop) then operate via London Road, Chichester Road and Copnor Road to
Burrfields Road.
Tree Felling in Duisburg Way. Southsea. Duisburg Way was closed for tree felling between 0900 and 1600 on Monday 14/7/08. Bus services were diverted
as follows.
5 (to Fareham) Diverted from Osborne Road via Clarence Parade, Western Parade and Southsea Terrace to Pier Road.
5 (to Southsea) Not affected.
6 (to Tipner) Diverted from Gordon Road via Pier Road, Southsea Terrace, Western Parade and Clarence Parade to Osborne Road.
6 (to Portsea) Diverted from Osborne Road via Clarence Parade, Western Parade, Southsea Terrace and Pier Road to Gordon Road.
Publicity. Further A7 size leaflets for Portsmouth, Fareham and Gosport areas have been issued.
Heavy Crane Operation in Nightingale Road, Queen Alexandra Hospital, Cosham.
Nightingale Road was closed from 0600 to 1500 on Saturday 23/8/08. During that time bus services were diverted per Saturday 12/4/08.
Removal of a Heavy Crane. St. George's Road, Portsea. St. George's Road, Portsea was closed from 0200 on Tuesday 26/8/08 to midnight on Friday
29/8/08 to allow the removal of a large crane. Bus services were diverted as follows.

Lee-on-the-Solent Festival. The Lee-on-the-Solent Festival took place on Saturday 23/8/08, hence the closure of High Street between its junction with Milvil
Road and Grove Road and that with Russell Road from 0600 to 1800. Bus services were diverted as follows.
34 (to Fareham) Diverted from Grove Road via Milvil Road, Montserrat Road, Raymond Road and Marine Parade West to Stubbington Lane.
34 (to Gosport) Operated direct from Marine Parade West to Grove Road.
36 (to Lee-on-the-Solent) Diverted from Grove Road via Milvil Road, Montserrat Road and Osborne Road to Lee-on-the-Solent (West Point).
36 (to Fareham) Diverted from Lee-on-the-Solent (West Point) direct to Grove Road then normal route from Russell Road.
72 (to Southampton) Diverted to operate direct from Portsmouth Road to Marine Parade West. 72 (to Gosport) Diverted to operate direct from Marine Parade West to
Portsmouth Road.
87A (to Stubbington) Diverted from Russell Road via Grove Road and Marine Parade West to Stubbington Lane.

Road Works in Southampton Road, Paulsgrove. Colas Ltd. resurfaced Southampton Road largely without diversions. However, diversions were needed when
the junction with Allaway Avenue was tackled from 1930 on Friday 8/8/08 until 0600 on Saturday 9/8/08, affecting only northbound services.
1 (to Paulsgrove) Diverted from Southampton Road via Sevenoaks Road, Peterborough Road, Wymering Lane, Lowestoft Road, Washbrook Road and Ludlow Road
to Allaway Avenue.
5A (to Fareham) Diverted from Southampton Road via Sevenoaks Road, Peterborough Road, Wymering Lane, Lowestoft Road and Washbrook Road to Allaway
Avenue.
9 (to Paulsgrove) Not affected.
Once contractors finished work on the junction with Allaway Avenue the road was re-opened and the junction with Sevenoaks Road tackled, which did not affect bus
services.
Bus Fares Revision.
There was a general increase in bus fares on Sunday 6/7/08. The reason is clearly stated to be the current economic climate. A notice in buses
blames "an increase in operating costs, in particular the cost of fuel." The prices of period tickets were also increased, eg FirstMonth Portsmouth
ticket was increased from £47 to £50 and FirstMonth Hampshire from £56 to £60.
Fad Buster Ticket.
The Fuel Buster Ticket was a special offer from Sunday 6/7/08 to Thursday 31/7/08. It cost £240 for six months of unlimited travel in the First
Hampshire Area (ie Portsmouth, Gosport, Fareham and Southampton services). This compares with £342 for six FirstMonth Hampshire tickets.
Student Tickets.
Current prices for special tickets for students of the University of Portsmouth are £90 (FirstUni Term) and £200 (FirstUni Annual). They allow unlimited
travel on Portsea Island for one University term or the whole University academic year (three terms) and could be bought at the First Hampshire &
Dorset office at The Hard Interchange, Portsmouth. The were advertised in buses using posters entitled "It's a no brainer!"
Summer Break.
From 27/7/08 to 30/8/08 a child FirstDay Hampshire ticket will only cost £2.50. This special offer is advertised on buses as a "Summer Break."
Portsmouth City Council Publicity.
Getting around Portsmouth. A new "Choice" booklet valid from 20/7/08. Blue cover with a colour photograph of preserved City of Portsmouth Passenger
Transport Department 4 (LRV 996) carrying Portsmouth Football Club on their victory parade on winning the FA Cup. This booklet was produced for
Portsmouth City Council by PB Bus Marketing Specialists. Public Transport Map 2008. New edition with blue front cover featuring five colour photographs,
