Meet Your Navy. "Meet Your Navy" weekend was held at HM Naval Base, Portsmouth, from Friday 77/08 to Sunday 20/7/08 and was essentially a revival of
"Navy Days" of yesteryear. Queen Street was closed at its junction with The Hard throughout the weekend to allow enhanced entrance facilities at
Victory Gate. Bus services were diverted as follows.
5/5A (to Fareham), 14 (to Baffin*), 15, 16A, 17/1/8 (to Eastney) & 41 (to Clanfield) Diverted from The Hard Interchange via The Hard, Clock Street
and Wickham Street to Queen Street.
5/5A, 13, 15, 17/18 & 41 (to Portsea) & 16A (to Old Portsmouth) Diverted from Queen Street via Wickham Street, Clock Street, Havant Street,
College Street and The Hard to The Hard Interchange.
To bolster seating capacity on the Sunday, Dart 41634 (R634 VLX) stood in for a minibus on Service 16A all day whereas Scania 65013 (YN54 NZJ)
deputised for a Dart for one afternoon duty on Service 6. Services 17/18, normally a Volvo B10BLE preserve, saw only two out of four buses in use being
of that type, 66176 (W376 EOW) and 66181 (W381 EOW), with the other two Sunday journeys operated by Olympians 34017 (P540 EFL) and 34072 (P572
EFL).
Unintentional Odd Wnrfcing. A shortage of available minibuses at Hilsea during the early morning of Tuesday 22/7/08 Zip branded Scania 65009
(YN54 NZE) operated the 0830 journey from Cosham to Ports Solent and return on Service 11. See above for intentional odd workings in conjunction
with "Meet Your Navy" weekend.
Closure of Cosham Level Crossing. Cosham level crossing was closed for further maintenance from 2300 on Thursday 24/7/08 to 0700 on Friday
25/7/08. Service 8 was diverted as follows.
8 (to Paulsgrove) Diverted from Chatsworth Avenue via Portsmouth Road, Hilsea Roundabout, Northern Road, Wayte Street, Wootton Street,
Vectis Way, High Street and Wayte Street to Northern Road.
Road Worts in London Road slip road at "The George". London Road and the "on" slip road around "The George" public house was resurfaced by Colas
Ltd. from Monday 30/6/08 to Friday 4/7/08. Bus services were diverted as follows.

Hill Road to resume normal route at "The George" public house.
From Tuesday 8/7/08 to Friday 11/7/08 it was the turn of the "off' slip road. Bus services were diverted as follows.

London Road was resurfaced by Colas Ltd. at its junction with Southwick Hill Road from 1900 on Thursday 17/7/08 to 0600 on Friday 18/7/08 and from 1900 on
Thursday 24/7/08 to 0600 on Friday 25/7/08. During those periods bus services were diverted as follows.
1C, 3 & 8 (to Paulsgrove) Diverted from Northern Road via Southampton Road and Sevenoaks Road to Peterborough Road.
1C & 3 (to Southsea) & 8 (to Highbury) Diverted from Peterborough Road via Sevenoaks Road and Southampton Road to Northern Road.

Colas Ltd. resurfaced Knowsley Road. Work was done between 0730 and 1700 from Monday 21/7/08 to Wednesday 23/7/08, although the company
allowed until Friday 1/8/08. Service 12 was diverted from Monday 21/7/08 to Saturday 26/7/08 as follows.
12(to Farlington)Diverted to start in Cosham from Wayte St(south side) and operate via Northern Rd, Spur Rd, Havant Rd and Court Lane to Old Manor Way.
12 (to Cosham) Diverted from Old Manor Way via Court Lane, Havant Road, Spur Road, Northern Road, Wayte Street, Wootton Street, Vectis
Way and High Street to Wayte Street, terminating on the south side.
Road Works in Velder Avenue. Milton. Colas Ltd. applied an anti-skid surface to Velder Avenue between 2000 on Monday 7/7/08 and 0500 on Tuesday
8/7/08. Service 14A was diverted as follows.
14A (Milton - Commercial Road [South]) Diverted from Velder Avenue via Rodney Road to circumnavigate the roundabout at the junction with Fratton Way,
then via Rodney Road and Milton Road to Goldsmith Avenue.
Road Works in Edinburgh Road, Landport. Portsmouth. In preparation for impending relocation of City Centre bus stops, Colas Ltd. installed bus boarders (ie
raised kerbs) near St. John's Roam Catholic Cathedral, Edinburgh Road. Work was done between 0730 and 1700 from Thursday 17/7/08 to Friday 18/7/08
without diversions Colas Ltd. resurfaced the section of Edinburgh Road outside St. John's Roman Catholic Cathedral. Accordingly eastbound bus services were
diverted from Tuesday 29/7/08 to Thursday 31/7/08 between 0730 and 1700. "BUS STOP" markings were applied to the new road surface by the new bus
boarders.
5 (to Fareham) & 41 (to Clanfield) Diverted from The Hard Interchange via The Hard, St. George's Road, Cambridge Junction, Cambridge Road, St.
Michael's Road, King Richard I Road, Winston Churchill Avenue and Isambard Brunei Road to Commercial Road [South].
15,17/18 (to Eastney) Diverted from Queen Street via Alfred Road, Marketway, circumnavigate the roundabout midway along Marketway, Marketway and
Unicorn Road to Edinburgh Road.
Road Works in Stanhope Road, Landport. Portsmouth. Colas Ltd. resurfaced Stanhope Road. While resurfacing the road, Colas Ltd. installed a bus boarder
(ie raised kerbO with "BUS STOP" road markings on the south side of the road near the disused Zurich Insurance building in preparation for
impending relocation of City Centre bus stops. Bus services were diverted as follows:
