In harness with retired Scotland Yard detectives Clive Donner and Brian
Hook, they have launched CSI:UK, which takes teams through a
‘murder’ investigation, complete with crime-scene investigations and
those funny white suits, the sort you wouldn’t find DI Hunt dead in.
Teams use authentic equipment and methods, collecting evidence
and sending items to the virtual laboratory. Unlike murder mystery
events, there is no use of actors, (except for the deceased, that is) and
the aim is to get as close to reality as possible, providing participants
with the opportunity to truly test collaboration, communication and
problem solving skills. Louise Ballard, Director of Giant Apple said,
“Team building is extremely popular right now but companies want to
make sure activities are helping to build teamwork and add value to
their organisation rather than subsiding a fun day out of the office. This
is such a different and unique challenge which develops a whole
range of skills for individuals and teams; I know it will be really popular.”
California Drive-In?
No, it’s Kent
When you are trying to tell anyone who will listen that the solution to
travel these days is drive and train, not drive and plane, it’s not a bad
idea to reinforce the concept with a good old-fashioned drive-in
movie. Even if it is August Bank Holiday in England.
