AT THE BEGINNING OF 2006, AS A NEW DIRECTOR OF A 24 YEAR OLD
ORGANISATION, IT WAS IMPORTANT TO LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE WHO
USE THE SERVICES, TO LISTEN TO THE TEAM THAT RUN THE SERVICES,
TO LISTEN TO THE COUNCIL OF MANAGEMENT THAT OVERSEE THE
SERVICES AND TO LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE WHO FUND THE SERVICES.
THIS PROCESS CERTAINLY TOOK ME TO THE END OF MARCH 2006,
AFTER WHICH I BEGAN TAKING ALL OF THE CONVERSATIONS, DEBATES
AND INDEED FRUSTRATIONS ON BOARD - IT WAS THEN TIME TO
DECIDE THE ORGANISATION’S FUTURE PATH.
