Each season we run an ‘Introduction to Playwriting’ course for the
18–25 age group, led by Royal Court playwright, Leo Butler. The
course runs for 11 weeks on a Monday and we run three courses a
year, starting in October, January and April. Please see the website for

Each season we run a ‘Playwriting Weekender’ for the 26+ age group.
This is an introduction to playwriting and consists of one intensive
weekend of workshops. Please see the website for information on
how to apply.
The Royal Court is a registered charity and not-for-profit theatre
company. Our annual turnover now reaches £4 million. Almost half of
our income comes from Arts Council England and we work hard to
secure the balance through ticket sales, commercial activity and
through fundraising.
Each year we need to find £1 million from generous individuals,
companies and grantmakers to ensure we can sustain and develop
new work for the stage. There are many ways in which you can
become involved, from programme support and membership schemes
to production sponsorship and bespoke entertaining.
