Letter from the

Dear Travelers anD FrienDs
here are a lot of days in 15 years and honestly,

I have enjoyed nearly every one. It’s true, I’m a
glass is half full kind of girl, but even the toughest
days in this business have given me the opportunity to
regroup, revise and refuel. Fortunately, it’s all paid off. The
Charlottesville travelling community has entrusted Peace
Frogs Travel/Outfitters with (hopefully) some of the best days
of their lives and we have risen to the challenge.
I want to thank all our clients for letting us help plan these
precious days - vacations, anniversaries, honeymoons, days
away from the rat race, days dedicated to lounging, and days
dedicated to seeing everything there is to be seen. I know
these days are few, often far between, and that there are oh
so many places to go.
I’d also like to thank our hard-working, passionate travel
consultants - led by Rochelle DeBaun, who literally tromped
through the blizzard of 1995 to start her 13 year career with
us. It’s their attention to detail, their vast knowledge of our
planet, and their ability to listen to a client and put together
an incredible trip that keeps us moving upward and onward.

And lastly, I’m going to thank…THe WOrLd. Thanks for
adventure travel:
changing my view 17 years ago in Japan, when I was all
alone, without a plan, without the language, without any
other stamps in my passport. I will be forever grateful to
the woman who helped me get on the correct train to Kyoto.
Who then called the youth hostel I was staying at that
night, made arrangements for me to arrive late, and took
me to a small children’s festival at a temple and then out
for my first traditional sushi dinner. It is the kindness of
strangers, the openness of different people to share their
time, their culture and their experiences that makes seeing
the world so worthwhile.

Fifteen years into this business - and I still believe the effects
of travel are profound, positive and ever-lasting. Every day
spent sending people out to explore is a day well spent.
Happy travels,
Julie Arbelaez, Chief Frog
