2. The gospel began long, long ago. Jesus Christ is the Subject and the Author of the gospel, but the gospel began long
before the birth of Jesus and the ministry of John. The gospel began long ago in the mind and plan of God. God foretold the
coming of the gospel through the prophets of old. Mark says what Paul was later to say.
