Meg Hall, General Manager Australia & New Zealand
Since her very first adventure traversing the continent of Africa, Meg has
packed a lot into her travelling career and now counts more than 59
countries over 6 continents in her experiences to date. After 6 years on the
road in her twenties, Meg eventually started leading tours in Africa and South
America and eventually tied the knot with her husband in Africa. They now
Meg & Max
have a toddler and have used our tailor-made department to organise
toddler friendly tours to Vietnam and Fiji, and are looking forward to many
more adventures to come with Kumuka’s Family Tours.
If Meg had to choose one Family Adventure, it would be… “My husband and I are keen trekkers so the Himalayan Mountains & Rhinos tour
in Nepal is in our sights.Walking with children is brilliant for conversation, what better way to bond with your family and travel through some of
the most breathtaking scenery on this planet.”
Michelle Desmarchelier, Groups and Tailor-Made Tour Manager.
Michelle first came into contact with Kumuka while on the road travelling in Africa during the 1990s. She then
followed Kumuka Worldwide as it developed over the years, eventually jumping (her words, not ours) at the
chance to join the team. Michelle brings with her 20 years of travel industry experience, a love of travel and a
passion for getting the most out of life.
"With a new family of my own and new family tours being developed each month I can't bring myself to choose just
one tour - perhaps we should just work our way through them all! It would definitely have to be a tour that included
walking, meeting the locals and being able to immerse ourselves in the local culture. One thing's for sure, Jack already
has itchy feet and is looking forward to the first stamp in his passport."
Nikki Barnes, Operations Assistant.
Nikki joined Kumuka as Operations Assistant for Family and Asia tours in 2007 after a wonderful journey
through Southern Africa on a Kumuka Overland tour. Nikki brings her extensive travel experience and
knowledge from working in the travel industry for many years. Her love of adventure has taken her to many
exciting destinations that include Australia, USA, Europe,Africa, the South Pacific,Asia and her home country
of New Zealand. She still has many places to visit such as South and Central America.
If Nikki had to choose one Family Adventure, it would be… “Either Alaska's Gold Panning, Glaciers & Grizzly
Bears or the Costa Rica Tour, because both tours have that great combination of amazing scenery, fascinating wildlife
and fun activities.”
Chris Valentine,Travel Consultant, London Office.
With a family of his own, Chris is an expert on family travel and insists on there being no better way to
spend time and bond with the kids than on an annual holiday. Now that he has Kumuka’s Family
Adventures to look forward to, Chris is looking towards getting off the beaten track with his family and
experiencing some of his favourite destinations, such as South America, together.
If Chris had to choose one Family Adventure, it would be… “Either the Middle East (Egypt) for its
combination of history, culture and beaches for the whole family to enjoy, or South America, to explore its
natural beauty and scenery.”
