Uganda Appeal

Send a Red Cross parcel to Uganda

For 21 years, Uganda has been ravaged by an internal conflict between the Lord’s Resistance Army and the Ugandan government forces. 1.7 million people have fled their homes to live in overcrowded camps in the north of the country where disease is rife and thousands are dying.

The Ugandan Red Cross has helped over 734,000 people since the crisis began, particularly by helping to provide clean water in the camps and distributing soap and other hygiene items. But more needs to be done – and thanks to the Red Cross supporters around the world who have sent donations to help the relief effort, we are doing it.

This year we aim to help thousands more people protect themselves from life-threatening diseases by carrying out improvements to sanitation, such as building latrines and refuse containers. We are also repairing boreholes and protecting water springs to ensure people living in the camps have clean
water to drink.

You can now support our work by sending a Red Cross parcel to Uganda. With your help we can continue to give people the help they need. Your donation could help buy baby kits, tarpaulins or tools and seeds that will enable families to grow staple foods like maize, beans and green vegetables to feed themselves.
