Help keep centre afloat
LONGRIDGE is a BCU and RYA training centre and has provided
training opportunities to young people for 50 years from a 12-acre
Thames side location. 27,000 young people visited this year coming
from all over the UK and a variety of backgrounds.
The site is currently facing closure.
Longridge need your help to save this world class water sports and
activity centre for young people of all backgrounds and abilities as
we have to raise £1.5m to purchase the site freehold, without that the
site will close and be re-developed.
To purchase a freehold there are few avenues open to the organis-
ers – Lottery, Public or Sports funding is not available for freehold
purchases. It is only from the public’s generosity that this site will
be saved.
To date they have raised over £1m and have until the 31st
December 2007 to raise the remainding £50,000.
