This year’s
attractions
AMONG the many features and
attractions at this year’s Southampton
Boat Show are:
HMS BOUNTY
FRESH from a leading role in the latest
film from the Pirates of the Caribbean
trilogy, The Worlds End, HMS Bounty
moors alongside Solent Park. Visitors
can have the opportunity to self tour the
ship along with a helpful crew offering
you an insight into life on a Pirate Ship.
Adding to the ships activity will a Cap'n
Jack Sparrow will be rolling around the
decks offering his slant life and trying to
sign up new crew – so beware ship
mates it could be you next! Access to
the ship is entirely FREE to Show ticket
holders.
TRY-A-BOAT
GET out onto the water at Try-a-Boat
where a selection of the latest RIBS,
powerboats and yachts will be on offer
to suit any of your needs whether your a
beginning or a professional.
TRY-A-DIVE
YOU bring a swimsuit - we'll supply the
wet suit. Friends and family can watch
your underwater abilities on TV.
THE RNLI AND
HM COASTGUARDS
THE RNLI and HM Coastguards, real life
heroes, show how it's done everyday at
lunchtime.
ONBOARD
FOR the second year kids will be able to
try-a-dinghy for free at the show with the
programme, OB (OnBoard) organised by
RYA, supported by the British Marine
Federation and sponsored by Henri-
Lloyd and Sunsail. OB (OnBoard),
developed by the RYA (the people who
to the show
run sailing in the UK) is a special funky
new programme to help introduce sailing
windsurfing as a sport for you –
whatever your needs or ability. In the
next ten years, OB wants to get half a
million kids just like you in to the sport.
Working with clubs across the UK, OB
makes getting into sailing easy. Even if
you live miles from the sea, you can
experience the best of sailing on lakes
estuaries and rivers in your area! Sailing
and windsurfing have everything, from a
cool sociable relaxing leisure experience
to high adrenalin, high performance
sport. OB gets you out on the water,
teaches you new skills and lets you have

CELEBRATING
BEIJING 2008
THE Southampton Boat Show has
teamed up with the Chinese Association
of Southampton to launch an exciting
new attraction designed to give visitors a
taste of Qingdao, Southampton's 'Sister
City', in celebration of the forthcoming
2008 Games in Beijing.
