T
he education department has
been extremely busy over
recent months, and the courses
we held have been well attended.
With this in mind, we would like to
thank the members who have attended
courses already, and welcome any future
activists who are hoping to attend
between now and the end of 2008.
One of the fi rst courses we put on
was a one-day Job Evaluation Course.
This was the fi rst of its kind in the
region – and the response we’ve had
from attendees indicates that it was
pitched at the right level.
Another new course was our
one-day Control of Substances
Hazardous to Health (COSHH),
which also had excellent feedback.
In addition to this, all new activists
since January have been enrolled
on the national/regional two-day
GMB@Work course. This training is

Don’t forget If you are unable to attend a course at the last minute, please let us know.
This is particularly important for courses that are being run by national tutors, as we need to have a
minimum number of attendees. We can always accommodate you on the next available course.
