level, opening the tub to the sky. In the
sleek kitchen, polished granite on the
floors and walls was paired with custom-
made stainless steel cabinetry. Steps of
solid wood descend to garden level from
the house’s main entrance. Heavy metal
doors created by a local sculptor lead to
the master bedroom and guest rooms.
Above Placing the main living space
on the upper level, with bedrooms
below, enabled the soaring ceilings
and spectacular view to the English
Channel, several miles away.
Right The structure containing the
children’s wing and the garage is far
more modest than the main house,
but its concrete walls received equally
careful treatment, their strict horizontal
pattern formed with a mold of slender
wood planks.
