The season may be over but the hard work starts here
NOW the racing season has ended it is def-
initely not time to pack your boat away for
the winter but time to start training to make
2009 your best year yet!
Regional training
The regional training kicks off at Grafham
Water on November 8/9. This is a residen-
tial weekend and is always tremendously
popular, attracting up to seventy boats in the
past with sailors dropping their boats off on
for Lasers begins
their way home after the Inlands.
Throughout the winter there are regional
training weekends up and down the country,
so there is something local to everyone. All
you have to do is be a member of the UK
- don't pack your
Laser Association and if you are not a mem-
ber and you join now, you get all of 2009
free. Each region is run on a non-profit
making basis so you can be sure you are
getting fantastic value for money.
boats away yet!
Coaching is done by some of the country’s
top Laser sailors including past and present
National, European and World Champions,
and is open to all ages and all rigs (Laser,
Radial and 4.7) with separate coaches for
each. Each region tends to work like a
squad with the same group of sailors attend-
ing all the weekends with a different theme
each time. The clubs are very carefully cho-
sen to provide good sailing conditions and
an active home fleet. The training is so pop-
ular that often sailors will do training out of
their region.
