isruptive passenger incidents occur on a daily basis around the globe. Most
are fairly minor in nature and are never reported; the more serious incidents
may reach the attention of the media.
Training crew how to respond to the varying types of forms of unacceptable passenger
behaviour is essential. However, recreating the scenarios in the classroom is time
consuming.
Nightmare Scenarios Inflight provides trainers with 30 scenarios ranging from mild, easily
managed disturbances through to serious hijackings. Each scenario depicts a specific
problem that cabin crew may encounter on a flight, but intentionally ends before the situation
is resolved. Furthermore, the cabin crew in each scene are, for training purposes, making
intentional mistakes in their management of each incident. This enables instructors to
engage crew in a discussion as to how the crew should have performed in a given scenario
and to predict a likely outcome.
It should be noted that this DVD does not proffer solutions; it is recognised that each
carrier has its own philosophy in this regard. Also full-scale passenger restraints are not
included, partly because the aim of the DVD is to encourage crew to think of non-physical
means of resolving each scenario, but also because each carrier has its own methodology
for effecting restraint. In any case, it is not advisable to learn restraint techniques from a
DVD or video.

scenes of a mild sexual nature.
