To the uninitiated, the story of Sparky’s Flaw resembles
the perfect scenario for a young rock band trying to make
it. Growing up and going to school together, practicing in

The start wasn’t so awe-inspiring back in their sophomore

year of high school, however. If the story was perfect it
wouldn’t include the members of this newly formed band
entering a local battle of the bands contest that year, and
finishing dead last, but that’s just what happened. And
somehow they took it as a sign to stick together and figure
out how to make it all work.
Fast forward several years, and their plan has come
together sublimely. True dedication and hard work have
reaped trappings for Sparky’s Flaw that many bands toil
years for, to never attain. Once dubbed as “the next big
band from Charlottesville,” they have arrived, armed with
strong management support from Red Light Management
and a deal with Mercury Records.
With a sound similar to Maroon Five and Coldplay, the
five members all contribute to the creative process. Lead
singer and guitarist, Will Anderson develops the poppy
tunes to which the rest of the guys contribute their
personal stamps, before going to the studio to polish and
record their work.
Sparky’s Flaw has benefited from extremely supportive
family members, and while they have achieved more than
they ever assumed they would, the experience of success is
still one they cherish. Said drummer, Johnny Stubblefied,
“(It’s been) like a dream, we never thought we would go
this far.” Stubblefield also intimated that the ultimate
would be to headline a sold out show at Madison Square
Garden in New York City, but for now its back to work
for Sparky’s Flaw. First is a stint on the road, doing shows
