AFL: LIVE MA
TEN
TCHES
IT’S neck-and-neck between reigning champs
Geelong and rivals Hawthorn at the top of the
AFL ladder. Geelong tagger Cameron Ling is ready
to start breaking AFL records with an incredible
24-game winning run. But with Western Bulldogs
unbeaten in the first five, a three-way run into May
is very much on the cards. Also this month, Dream
Team and Victoria line up for the AFL’s Hall of Fame
tribute match at the MCG on May 10.
NRL: LIVE MA
ELEVEN
TCHES
AFTER a month that saw the NRL’s Team of the
Century named at a glittering gala ball in Sydney, it
is back to the stars of today for an action-packed
May. Among them Tim Moltzen for West Tigers who
has slipped nicely into pivot for Benji Marshall and
is proving another real find for coach Tim Sheens.
Tigers are just off the pace, though, with Bulldogs
leading the chasing pack ahead of Round 7. But
the Broncos, Sharks, Roosters and Storm are all
within spitting distance of taking their place on
the Ladder. And with Australian selectors to
name their squad to face New Zealand in the
Centenary Test this month, the players will
be giving their all in a bid to catch their eye.
