Turkey.
Faruk Akbas
Digital cameras. Don’t you just love ‘em in all their instant
mega-pixel glory? Problem is it’s turning us all into
‘professional photographers’. But call us old fashioned
because we still think that to take a good pic you need a
trained eye and some proper photographic experience.
Just like our good friend Faruk Akbas. Faruk is responsible
for the latest Craghoppers photography and we stumbled
across him (not literally) on a photo shoot in Turkey.
He’s one of the world’s leading freelance photographers
and is well known for his ability to capture the glorious
natural and cultural world of this wonderful planet.
He also established ‘Fotografevi’ Art House in Istanbul and
the Kayakoy Art Camp in Fethiye. He regularly lectures at the
University of Ankara, he runs workshops for photographers
all around the world and undergoes loads of high
profile commercial photographic assignments, working for
the likes of Fujifilm (Oh, we’re such name droppers!).
All the images in this catalogue were taken in South West
Turkey & the Black Sea Mountains in Northern Turkey.
