Chefs get ready to battle
As the hospitality trade begins to turn its attention to next year’s ScotHot exhibition the organisers of the
show have unveiled a new series of competitions for Scotland’s chefs to get involved. OTS takes a look at how
you can get involved, and outlines our own role as sponor of Scottish Pub Chef of the Year.

for OTS readers who think they can mix with
the best in the business, and come out on
top. It is for this reason that OTS has teamed
up with ScotHot to sponsor this event. The
Scottish pub scene is awash with some
tremendously talented chefs providing
restaurant-quality food, and we firmly believe
these chefs should be rewarded for their
efforts, so if you think your kitchen has what it
takes to win, then get involved.
The competition starts with first-stage paper
judging which picks the ten best candidates to
move forward. These ten successful
candidates will prepare two portions of a main
course (a traditional fish dish using sustainably
sourced white fish with suitable garnish) and
dessert (a modern interpretation of a
traditional steamed pudding), as they battle it
out in ScotHot’s live competition theatre to
win the desirable title.
