Janet Bolton was born in Lancashire. During the 1960s she
studied at the Harris School of Art, Preston, and Liverpool School
of Art. She now lives in London.
Janet has written two books for children; ‘My Grandmother‘s
Patchwork Quilt’ and ‘Noah‘s Ark’, as well as a textbook on her
appliqué and quilting techniques entitled ‘Patchwork Folk Art’.
Her latest book, ‘Janet Bolton’s Textile Pictures’, is an illustrated
story of her life, work and inspirations.
She is represented in the collections of
the Crafts Council, British Council and the
Embroiderers’ Guild and her work has featured
in many exhibitions around the world including
the Crafts Council, Contemporary Applied Arts
and the Museum de Stadshof, Holland. Godfrey &
Watt has exhibited her work regularly since 1986.
