of Pension Credit. If you are single, then you will receive the
difference between £125.05 and your weekly income, or if in
a couple you will receive the difference between £189.35 and ag
your weekly income.
If you or your partner are aged 65 or over with a single weekly
income of between £91.20 and £174 (joint weekly income of
between £145.80 and £255 if in a couple) then you may be
eligible for the ‘Savings Credit’ element of Pension Credit. This

is a maximum of £19.71 per week for a single person (maximum
of £26.13 per week if you have a partner). To apply you can call
the Pension Service on 0800 99 1234 or complete the Pension
Credit application form online at:

■ Child Trust Fund

The government gives every child (after September 1 2002)
a £250 voucher to start the fund. This is a savings account that

the child will be able to access when they reach 18. If you are
in a household that receives Child Tax Credit with a household
income of below £15,575, your child will get an extra £250 paid

directly into the child trust fund account. An additional payment
of £250 (£500 if on a low income) will be made when the child
reaches seven years old.
