Basha Library offers
more than books
Southern Chandler’s Basha Library is out to prove
libraries can mean big fun for youths of all ages.
Recently numerous young, animé driven artists
were given a comic’s crash course by local Valley artist
Bryan Kilgore. Participants honed their drawing skills
under the veteran eye of Kilgore, who has penned
many animé styled comics.
Kilgore uses cartoons and animé to teach students
different art techniques. He shows them how lines
make shapes, shapes makes objects and objects make
pictures.

Hogwart’s “grad” to Basha
It was sitting room only at Basha Library recently as
Jolly Roger, a.k.a. Roger Blakiston, entertained young
and old alike.

His website claims “Jolly Roger attended The
Hogwart’s academy of Witchcraft and Wizardry for
a full seven years, and graduated before Harry Potter
was even born. Jolly Roger is the only Wizard living in
Arizona with an authentic British accent.”
Fortunately, no children vanished during his
latest show at Basha; although a small rabbit is still
missing.
