Eat, swing with Shriners
for ill children
A dinner benefi ting the El Zaribah’s Transportation Fund to take ill children and
their parents to Shriners Hospitals for Children is hosted by the Sun Lakes Shrine
Club at 5 p.m. Mon., Oct. 8 in the Arizona Room of the Sun Lakes Country Club.
The event also features a visit from the Potentate.
Food is being donated by Carrabba’s Italian Grill on Alma School Road in
Chandler, and will be followed by dessert donated by Paradise Bakery in Ocotillo.
Tickets are $15 each and may be purchased by contacting President Scotty Scott
at 480-895-4176 or by email at scottml@Shaklee.net.
In addition, a shotgun start golf tournament – the club’s major fundraising event
of the year – is planned for 11 a.m. Sat., Nov. 17 at the Sunbird Golf and Country
Club. A hot lunch will be served, and libations are available on the course.
Play is a four-person scramble. There will be three fl ights and awards given to
the fi rst four teams in each fl ight with 144 players maximum. Cost is $50 per player,
which includes mulligans and a raffl e ticket. Lunch for non-players is $8.
