abilitytomakeanimpact. Overthecourseoftheyear,DiaperFreeBabybe-
cameamembershiporganization. Infact,overtheyear2006,justoverhalf
oftheDiaperFreeBabyincomecameintheformofmembershipdues.This
incomewasjoinedbydirectcontributionsaswellasasmallbutgrowingin-
come from the DiaperFreeBaby Shop’s book sales. This money in turn
helpedDiaperFreeBabycontinuetohostitsinformativewebsite,toprovide
informationatevents,toproducenewpublicationsandpromotionalmate-
rialstohelpspreadthewordaboutEC,aswellastocoverthecostsofbeing
anonprofit,maintainingapostofficebox,andsoforth.Somemoneywent
towardbookpurchasesfortheShop,butthismoneyismorethanreturned
whenbooksaresoldthroughtheShop.
In2007,DiaperFreeBabyunderwentsomequietergrowth,solidifyingmany
ofthebigorganizationaldevelopmentsthattookplacein2006. Asaresult,
2007 was not marked by big developments, but launched a stronger
DiaperFreeBabyinto2008. Andallthewhile,DiaperFreeBabycontinuedto
makeanimpactonindividualfamiliesthroughthelocalGroupsandonthe
parenting discussion more broadly through public relations, publications
andadvocacy.
