PETERSON’S PROFESSIONAL KARATE CENTER: Owner Shannon Peterson
teaches the traditional Okinawan karate called Isshinryu at Peterson’s Professional
Karate Center on Riggs Road in S. Chandler. Peterson has been in karate for 23
years, and has taught for 11, the past six months in the new location. Students
can learn karate starting at age 3-1/2, and self-defense, character building and
self-discipline are also taught. The Center is open Monday through Friday from

THE TATTERED GYPSY: Pam Tarpy has a long history in historic downtown
Chandler, with The Bead Boutique bead store, then Serendipity, which offered
an eclectic assortment of gifts and collectibles that kept conservative Chandler
