Before moving to Carmel,Williams lived for 27 44
years in Evansville.Aformer teacher and coach at the _B
city’sHarrison High School, he l ater served as assistant _PRINCIP A
principal, then principal. Harrison High School is still dear _, 44
to him. _
“I tell everyone [in Carmel] that Evansville Harrison is the 4;
second-best high school in the state,”Williams said. Pa
Just as Carmel Clay Schools have had great foresight and ge
planning,Williams touts the Carmel community for its thought- :1
out planning and growth. ;T

Williams’ passion for excellence in education is apparent as 5
x he talks about Carmel High School.
1“I am often asked if our high school is too big,”hesaid.“Yes, 0MEET
.8we will have more than 4,000 students this fall, but Ibelieve 7
that size equals opportunity.The breadth of our curriculum is 5
")second to none.” ;P
He said the large size means more opportunities.Foreign la
language offerings,for example,include Japanese,Latin, te:
Chinese andAmerican Sign Language. C
ompo“Our accomplishments are not questioned, whether in
academics,athletics or performing arts,”Williams said.“We
simply have more teachers,more counselors,more coaches sit
and, most importantly,more opportunities in which students e;Da
