world or just need a “brush-up” this is the class for you. Users learn character and paragraph
formatting using menus and toolbars. Also, learn to use tabs, spell check, headers/footers, and ■
endnotes/footnotes plus many more features. Correct business formats and accuracy emphasized.

Prerequisites: Familiarity with the Windows environment and some formatting knowledge.

and PowerPoint presentations. Whether designing for an employer or personal business, this
course will provide you with the necessary techniques to generate eye-catching documents.

MEDICAL WORD PROCESSING—

Students will gain realistic work experience as they simulate the position of the word processing ■

specialist in a medical environment. Throughout the course, students become familiar with a

variety of medical documents commonly produced in a medical office. Proofreading, medical
terminology, and keyboarding of medical documents at a fast and accurate rate are also

emphasized. Prerequisites: 25 wpm keyboarding speed and familiarity with Windows.

MEDICAL TRANSCRIPTION—Transcribe a wide variety of medical documents using a ■
dictation machine and a word processing program. Before beginning this self-paced course, you
■
must demonstrate competency in work processing, keyboarding, and English.

MICROSOFT PUBLISHER 2007—Achieve professional results without prior design
knowledge. This program uses over 2000 professionally designed templates, hundreds of design
■
elements, and “Wizards” to help you generate various business documents and marketing materials.
■
Prerequisites: Familiarity with the Windows environment, and some word processing.

DREAMWEAVER—Learn to build and maintain Web sites, including multiple pages

containing images and links. Course covers site management, HTML head content, designing
with tables, page properties, image maps, importing and exporting table data, text editing and
■
formatting. Prerequisites: Competency in Windows and some word processing experience.
