Rug Braiding

Recycle/reuse fiend and artisan Arlene Magarian teaches the traditional craft of rug making
■
using recycled materials of all kinds. Learn to make useful and decorative objects such as rugs, ■
seat mats, pet beds, bowls, and more. The lab fee includes a lacing tool to take home, material to
■
make a seat mat, and an illustrated leaflet by the artist, “How to Make a Braided Rug.” A $10 lab
fee, payable to instructor, is due at the first class. Course is repeatable w/no extra lab fee.

Knitting 101

In this 5-week knitting course students will learn to cast

Learn how to use your digital camera to capture compelling portraits. Introduction to

Plein Air Painting
■
Let’s go outdoors. This class is designed for students working in pencil, pastels, oil, acrylic or

watercolor who want to work outdoors (en plein air). First meeting

held in the classroom to discuss outdoor painting equipment,
composition, perspective, and color mixing. The rest of the term
■
we will meet 2-4 times at 3-4 painting sites to have plenty of ■
time to complete several paintings. Bring paper, pencil, and any
■
painting supplies that you might have to the first class. Beginners
welcome. Instructor, Mark Jezierny (MFA, SF Art Institute),
■
has taught fine arts for 18 years. His art is exhibited in galleries
■
throughout the Bay Area.
