Highlights…….well there were
too many to mention!
New Dawn
meets Megabite!
Ever popular was the traditional
evening candle lit Holy Mile walk.
This year it was extra special as
it was preceded at the Roman
Catholic National Shrine with the
biggest ecumenical gathering of
young people ever witnessed in
Walsingham.
Youngsters from the New
Dawn Conference gathered in
the grounds with us for an amaz-
ing half hour of singing, mime,
teaching and in-put from Fr Stan
Fortuna (one time rock star in the
Bronx USA, now monk and gifted
preacher/singer).
Where it all happens!
As an event many young people
say the youth pilgrimage has it all.
Our own Olympic games, five-a-
side football, art and craft, break
dancing, DJ-ing, street dance,
drumming, karaoke, disco, BBQ
it all happened during the week!
Non stop prayer!
This year we pulled out all the
stops as young people signed up
for an all night prayer vigil in the
big top before the Blessed Sacra-
ment. Just before midnight on
Wednesday the sacrament was
revealed on top of a giant flood-
lit ziggurat. An amazing sight.
Hundreds of candles were lit as
young people offered their prayers
throughout the night.
