Nothing tastes as good as being Green feels
& this is one Chocolate Company with a Conscience
With the Planet in trouble we must consider how and what we do on a daily basis.
By considering the impact we have on resources and the how our lifestyle contributes to pollution, we can formulate a
resolve for a Greener Healthier Future. As consumers we hold the power to dictate a standard of care and make Business
a greener affair! Endanger Species Chocolate is one Company who has taken this message to heart.
RECYCLING

In our copy room, used paper is sorted for recycling. We use unprinted sides of junk mail, faxes, etc to stock our printers
for draft documents.

Our kitchen, work room and shipping areas offer easily identifiable bins for paper, plastic and aluminum recycling.

We use a pallet company that uses recycled pallets, and will recycle our pallets when they are no longer usable.

We recycle our corrugated materials through our local waste collection company.

We consolidate heavy freight shipments to cut down on fuel consumption.
REUSED MATERIALS

Our chocolate bar wrappers are printed on recycled paper and use water based ink.

can help!
Constructive ways to reuse your chocolate packaging.
!
Reuse Packaging
Due to the delicate nature of premium chocolate, great care goes into packing each order so that the chocolate arrives to
you in perfect condition…protected against temperature, humidity, odors, and rough handling. We are constantly seeking
out more environmentally-friendly packing materials that will insure your chocolate arrives in pristine condition. Below are
some suggestions on how you can recycle and/or reuse the packing materials that accompany your chocolate order.
Styrofoam Insulation
The insulation used in our packaging is called Expanded Polystyrene (EPS). For information on locating recycling centers
that accept this material, consult the online collection site map,(when contacting your local collection site, be sure to
verify that they accept EPS).
Packing Peanuts
You can save this material yourself and reuse it the next time you need to ship or pack breakables. This material can also
be used in potted plants as drainage in the bottom of the pot (this method also makes the filled pot much lighter than
using pebbles or other drainage materials). Acting on any of these suggestions will keep this useful packaging in
circulation!
Gel Packs
These re-freezable non-toxic gel packs can be reused as a refrigerant (use them in coolers and lunch boxes) or for First
Aid (a cool gel pack wrapped in a towel and applied to sore muscles is a great way to reduce pain and inflammation).
