Over the last few months in the Stewardship
Corner, we have been discussing the concept of
laying up for ourselves treasures in Heaven in-
stead of building up earthly treasures that have
no eternal value. When we shift our mindset to
begin investing in Heavenly pursuits, God can
open up the windows of Heaven and pour out
His blessings upon us, because He knows our in-
vestments will continue to build His Kingdom!

Dear Rabbi Bernis:
I have a praise report. Several months ago
I sold a ‘65 Mustang. I really felt that the Lord
wanted me to give an offering from the sale of
my car. After praying for direction from the Lord,
I felt led to give my offer-
ing of $500 to JVMI. I
didn’t give the
offer-
ing
to be
blessed, but my husband and I have been in a
huge way.
Here is our story. We were paying more than
$40,000 per year in taxes. I kept telling my hus-
band that something was wrong. I felt we needed
to fi nd a tax shelter or something. My husband
took his tax information to our accountant this
spring. We found out he would be receiving a
$9,000 refund (that’s getting money back, which
has never happened) and that he wouldn’t have
to pay more than $1,200 per quarter in taxes
next year. Our taxes went from over $40,000 to
approximately $4,800 and our income has not
gone down! The lord multiplied my $500 x 18!
That’s an 1800% blessing!
I just had to write to you and let you know.
God proved Himself to me again. He said that
He would bless them that bless Israel, and curse
him that curses Israel. I have chosen to be as
much of a blessing as possible to the Jewish Peo-
ple. Because of my love toward His People and
Israel, God blessed my husband and I. I just had
to tell someone who would understand, so that
is why I am writing to you.
Thank you again so much for your minis-
try and I will continue to be a blessing to you as
often as the lord allows.

better myself. I believe that we will be blessed
as we give according to our heart’s intent, what
author Randy Alcorn calls the “Treasure Prin-
ciple.” When we learn the secret of giving, not to
exalt ourselves, but to bless God’s Kingdom, we
reap blessings. I’ll give the Apostle Paul the fi nal
word here. He put it this way:
“Now He who supplies seed to the sower
and bread for food will also supply and increase
your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest
of your righteousness. You will
be made rich in every way so
that you can be generous on
every occasion.” (2 Cor. 9:10)
