Possibilities and threats in the market
Sometimes the market gives a company possibilities it was not aware of.
For instance, the government could make a new law, saying that everybody
has to wear a mask protecting themselves against smog. If you are selling
masks this law gives you a huge selling opportunity.
Also things in the world affect the market. A catastrophe like an explosion in
a chemical factory that pollute a river. Changing fashion trends. More
purchasing power in the society in general might change the market you
are in. For one company these things might be a possibility, for others a
threat.
Always keep an eye on the newspaper, the television, listen to discussions.
Use your common sense. Compare the input you get with the company you
are running. Maybe sometimes you can foresee where the market is going?
You can't change the things that is happening in the market. You can adjust
your company to them.
