Jonathan's schedule We thought that with Independence Day falling within the dates of this issue of Jewish Voice Today, we
for July & would explore the role of Jewish People in the establishment and development of our Nation. The United
August 2005: States is a country greatly blessed by God and has been since her inception some 230 years ago. One reason
(among many) that I believe this is so is because of the way our Nation has treated the Jewish People. The July 5 - 9
USA has been a safe haven for the Jewish People, and over the last two centuries, Jews have prospered and Grantham, PA
been greatly blessed. Likewise, America has been blessed by and through her Jewish citizens. Through her Messiah Conference
blessing of the Children of Israel, God's favor has shone upon our Nation. Why do I say this?
July 10 - 17 In Genesis 12:1-3, we read about the initial calling and blessing of Abram, who later becomes Abraham,
Upstate New York the father of the Jewish Nation. God instructs him to "Leaveyour country, yourpeople and your father's
SpeaMng Tour household and go to the land I will show you." This is followed by divine decree that is just as much
in force today as it was when God declared it over 4000 years ago: '7 will makeyou into a great nation August 1 - 6
and/will bless you; /will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. /will bless those who Laguna Woods, CA
bless you, and whoever curses you / will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you. " For Zion's Sake

Here, God establishes an eternal principle that individuals, as well as entire nations, will be dealt with based August 12 - 20
on their treatment of Abraham's descendants. They will either receive blessing or judgment directly from MJIF Alaska Cruise
God Himself as a result of their blessing or cursing of Israel. And history hasproven the veracity of this Keynote Speaker
statement! Those that have blessed the Children of Israel have been blessed and those that have cursed
August 25 - September 5 the Children of Israel have endured the punishment of God. In most cases, they were destroyed (just look
Gondar, Addis Ababa at the Egyptians, the Canaanites, the Jebusites and the other "ites" of history), they are all gone. So, I can
Ethiopia state with certainty, based on Genesis 12:3, that the blessing of God on the United States has been directly

But, the Lord also declared that He would make Abraham's children a blessing and that ultimately, "all the
families of the earth" would be blessed through them. Of course, the greatest fulfillment of this promise
was the Messiah Yeshua (Jesus) Himself. He came to this world as a Jew, through the lineage of Abraham,
as promised by the Jewish Prophets. He lived as a Jew and died as a Jew. He was the King of the Jews as well
as Savior for all mankind. He is the Great Blessing to the entire world as promised to Abram.
But the Jewish People were also ordained and destined by God to be a source of blessing to the nations.
And again, history has borne out the truth of this. The Jewish People, although a true minori~ throughout
most of their history,, have contributed disproportionately to their population to advances in science, medi-
cine, technology, the arts, etc. If you don't believe me, just look at the list of those that have been recipients
of the Nobel Prize. Take note how many are Jews. Why? Because God ordained that the Children of Israel
were to be a blessing to the world.
Bottom line - God's Word is true and will come to pass, all of it. And that included the promised restora-
tion of the Children of Israel as well! It will happen, just as God promises!
