This month’s WOW! Mom will surely be a blessing to all of us
who strive to be better parents even though our own parental
foundation may not have been so strong. She is a living
example of how following God while recognizing growth
opportunities can benefit our families. All of Mrs. Oliver’s
children are faithfully and lovingly serving in ministry!
WOW: What is your greatest parental reward? P R O F I L E :
Sadie Oliver: Seeing all of my children in the kingdom of
God, loving and serving God.
WOW: How do you balance church, family, and your home?
SO: Prayer! God shows me what I need to be doing and
even when He tells me, I still don’t listen as much as I should.

in your “me” time?

SO: I just started taking “me” time! When my kids were
younger, I had to take them everywhere I went. They called us
the Brady Bunch. I usually get my hair done though.

WOW: How does having Christ in your life change the way
you parent? Age: 55
SO: Christ teaches me discipline, how to show love to
children, raise them and protect them. Kids need love. My
Children: Kimberly, 36; Craig, 34; Cardell, 29, 5
generation was not taught to love. We were taught to provide
for and take care of our children but most of us weren’t taught
grandchildren
that kids need to be loved, hugged and showed affection.
WOW: What was the best advice given to you as a mom, and Occupation: RETIRED
what is the best advice you’d pass on to other mothers?
SO: Honestly, advice was never given to me. The advice I

would pass on is to allow your children to be who God called
them to be. We can be so structured as parents that we don’t
allow them to grow. I would also say not to project our fears
