A CITY AND GUILDS DIPLOMA IN
Hairdressing (IVQ 1122)
In February, Arte welcomed students as a City and Guilds approved Centre for Training and is now delivering the practical
components to students studying the IVQ Diploma in Hairdressing. Its spacious, modern premises provide an ideal learning
environment with training delivered by highly skilled and qualiﬁed staff.

Gerard Curran, the City and Guilds appointed External Veriﬁer from the UK visited Arte on March 10
th
to ensure that quality
and standards are being achieved as required by C&G London. This inspection visit went very favourably with positive feedback
relating to the realistic working environment provided by Arte and the enthusiasm and commitment of its Trainers.

The International Vocational Diploma is intended as an internationally recognised qualiﬁcation and equivalent to the NVQ offered
in the UK. Students participate in practical salon based training with an additional weekly theory session which prepares the
students for the C&G external examination. On successful completion of the course students receive a certiﬁcate from C&G UK.

A CITY AND GUILDS DIPLOMA IN
MOTOR VEHICLE ENGINEERING
(IVQ 3905)
Beginning September 08, this International Vocational Qualiﬁcation is recognised
world-wide and provides the opportunity for an exciting career in the motor vehicle
industry.
This Diploma covers a variety of components relating to chassis and engine systems
including:
• Petrol, diesel engines and fuel systems
• Engine auxiliary systems
• Ignition and electrical systems
• Braking, steering and suspension systems
• Vehicle body work
Students attend theory one day a week and cover practical skills in work-placement
garages. City and Guilds UK award a qualiﬁcation certiﬁcate once students have
successfully passed the externally set and marked C&G examinations. For individuals
who already have practical experience and wish to obtain a City and Guilds
qualiﬁcation we can offer theory / exam only courses.
